Fermentory was a participatory performance that invited people to bring their leftover materials for preservation. The performance was conducted as an assembly line, divided into three stations; reception, preservation, and registration. Each person's scraps were preserved with a salt and vinegar solution and suitable spices for their specific mixture. This project asked viewers to reexamine material use and consumption. By choosing to reference both kitchen and laboratory environments, we emphasized and exposed everyday materials and their properties.
